Your Medical Record

Your laboratory test results are automatically released to your My CS-Link account 1-10 days after your hospital discharge or after your tests are complete. If you have multiple test results, you may receive them separately, as some tests take longer than others to complete. You may see the results before your doctor has reviewed them or discussed them with you.

Test results of a sensitive nature or those restricted by California law are not automatically posted to My CS-Link.

Please contact your doctor to discuss your results. Your doctor can often manually release results to My CS-Link if the results are not automatically posted. You can also contact our Health Information Department at 310-423-2259 to receive your results.

Please ask your doctor at your next visit or contact your doctor's office about the incorrect information. You can also submit a Request to Amend Protected Health Information.

My CS-Link displays health reminders based on the information in your Cedars-Sinai medical record and may not reflect care provided outside of Cedars-Sinai’s system. If you have questions about the health reminders displayed on My CS-Link, please contact your doctor.

My CS-Link technical support cannot add or remove health reminders or change any clinical information.

You can download and send your records to a clinician, or you can grant one-time, limited access to your My CS-Link information.

To download and send your records:

  • Log in to My CS-Link
  • Navigate to the hamburger menu (see screenshot below) and click on Share My Record, then Download or Send Your Record
  • Choose a single visit, multiple visits or a health summary
  • Choose to download or send your records
    • Click Download to generate a package containing a PDF and data—you can encrypt your download with a password
    • Click Send to transmit the data by secure email
    • Be aware that not all clinicians participate in My CS-Link

To grant one-time limited access to your My CS-Link information:

  • Log in to My CS-Link
  • Navigate to the hamburger menu and click on Share My Record
  • Click Give one-time access with Share Everywhere
  • Enter the name of the person who will access your records
  • A one-time share code will be generated, which must be used within five minutes—the code, along with your date of birth, needs to be entered by the person accessing your record at ShareEverywhere.com
  • The person accessing your record will now be able to see select My CS-Link information on ShareEverywhere.com until they log out of the session. Once logged out, that person cannot view your information unless a new share code is generated

Please note that records downloaded, sent or shared reflect the information that you can see on My CS-Link and do not contain your complete medical record.

You can submit a request for medical information on My CS-Link and download your records as a PDF file to keep or to share with other clinicians or family members.

  • Log in to My CS-Link
  • Navigate to the hamburger menu (see screenshot below) and click on Request My Record, then from the Request for Health Records screen, select your information requested items and dates

Family and Proxy Access

Yes. To help patients and their care partners manage their healthcare needs, proxy access allows a patient's designated representative ("proxy") to have access to the patient's medical information through the proxy's My CS-Link account.

If you are a parent or care partner of a Cedars-Sinai patient and you would like to gain access to the patient’s medical information via My CS-Link, please complete the form below and take it to the patient’s next doctor visit.

Navigate to the hamburger menu (see screenshot below) and click on Share My Record, then click on Friends and family access to revoke someone else's proxy access

Almost all the information you can see in your My CS-Link account is viewable by your proxy.

In most cases, no. However, when initiating a message with a clinician, you can specify whether your proxies should be able to see the message. Clinicians can also choose whether a message they send is viewable by your proxies.

Yes. If you have proxy access for a family member, you can send messages to the family member's doctors. When you use the message feature, you should see the family member's name in parentheses and see their doctors who can be messaged on My CS-Link.

Teen Access

Teens (12-17 years old) can sign up to access their Cedars-Sinai medical record from CS-Link. Teens have their own sign-in and password and can access My CS-Link from a smartphone or computer.

Teens can see important health information (such as history, medications and allergies), schedule appointments, send messages to their doctors and more.

Teens can decide to let a parent or legal guardian see parts of their medical record in My CS-Link. This is called “proxy” access.

With proxy access, a parent or legal guardian can see and help manage a teen’s appointments, send messages to a teen’s doctor or nurse and review other parts of a teen’s medical record, including allergies and immunizations. However, a parent or legal guardian cannot see parts of a teen’s medical record that may be protected by California minor consent and confidentiality laws, including visit notes and test results that may include sensitive or very personal information.

To request teen access to My CS-Link, call your Cedars-Sinai pediatric provider, or call the Cedars-Sinai Health Information Department (Medical Records) at 310-423-2259. To request proxy access to your My CS-Link account for your parent or legal guardian, please complete the form below and take it to your next doctor visit.

Messaging

The recipient list is automatically generated based on the details in your medical record. A provider may not appear in your recipients list for the following reasons:

  • The provider does not have access to My CS-Link or has opted out of My CS-Link messaging
  • You have not had a recent visit or communication with the provider and do not have an upcoming appointment

If you cannot message your doctor, please call the doctor's office. My CS-Link technical support cannot add or remove recipients.

Most offices try to respond within two to three business days. If you need an immediate response, call your doctor's office. For emergencies that require immediate attention, call 911.

  • You can attach up to four files.
  • The following file types are accepted: BMP, JPEG, JPG, PDF, PNG, TIF, TIFF, 3GP, 3GPP, AVI, MOV, MP4, MPEG, MPG, WMV
  • The maximum file size is 3.91 MB for images, PDFs and videos
  • Attachments become part of your permanent medical record

You may not be able request renewals if:

  • The prescribing provider does not have access to My CS-Link or has opted out of My CS-Link
  • The medication was prescribed with refills—please check with the pharmacy if you have refills remaining on your medication. My CS-Link may not accurately reflect the number of refills remaining on your medication if the prescription was dispensed by a non-Cedars-Sinai pharmacy.

If you cannot request medication renewals on My CS-Link, please call your doctor's office.

Sync Wearable Device Data with My CS-Link

Cedars-Sinai (through My CS-Link) and other participating health systems might be able to exchange your health information to ensure that your records are available to your clinicians regardless of where care was provided. This can provide a centralized area to interact with your health records from multiple organizations.

  • Log into your My CS-Link account
  • Navigate to the hamburger menu (see screenshot below) and click on Share My Record, then click on Review which devices or apps can see your information
  • To revoke access for an app or service, click Remove access—to revoke access for a device, click Unlink
